My Circle

What is My Circle?

My Circle is a feature in the Camera New Vision app that lets you create a personal list of trusted sighted people — your family members, friends, colleagues, or personal caregivers — who can receive your video calls directly.

Instead of being connected to a random available volunteer from the general pool, you can reach out to someone who knows you personally and understands your specific needs and preferences.

How it works

1. Add people to your Circle Invite a family member, friend, or caregiver by sending them a link. They install the Camera New Vision volunteer app and accept your invitation.
2. Call your Circle directly When you need help, open the app and choose to call your Circle first. The app tries to reach your personal contacts before routing to the general volunteer pool.
3. They see what you see Your trusted helper receives the video call, sees your camera view in real time, and guides you with voice instructions — just like any other Camera New Vision call.
4. Fallback to volunteers If no one in your Circle is available at that moment, the app automatically connects you to the next available volunteer from our community so you are never left without help.

Why My Circle matters

For many blind and low-vision people, being assisted by a known and trusted person makes a real difference. A family member already knows the layout of your home, your daily routes, and how you prefer to receive guidance.

My Circle brings that personal connection into the app — while still keeping the full community volunteer network as a reliable backup.
